VIZ Media has signed a development and merchandise agreement with Ghostbot, Inc. (also of San Francisco) for Ghostbot property Chummy Chum Chums. Chummy Chum Chums is a social media sticker set with hundreds of millions of users and tens of millions of stickers sent daily. Under the agreement, VIZ will develop the property for animation and other media, and represent it for character merchandise. We’re assuming VIZ will be a publishing licensee, but that aspect of the deal was not announced at this time.
Ghostbot Exec Producer Corrine Wong described Chummy Chum Chums, launched in September of 2016, as "a fun property about friendship and love that was inspired and created from our hearts and our affections for animals."
