Ultra Pro was showing off some upcoming releases from its Playroom Entertainment division at the ACD Games Day, including Dad Joke Face-Off, scheduled for June, Say What You Meme, aiming for July, and Costume Party Assassins coming out this summer.

Dad Joke Face-Off takes the notorious stereotypical “dad jokes” and makes them into a challenge for players who must try not to laugh when hearing these groaners, and also as they deliver them.  Players tell jokes face-to-face, and whoever makes their opponent break first gets a point.  The player with the most points at the end wins.

This party game was designed for 2 to 12 players, ages 12 and up, and takes less than half an hour to play.  It includes 225 cards with 600 jokes, 144 tokens, and a game board.  MSRP is 20.00.

Say What You Meme converts the internet tradition of attaching wacky captions to photos into a party game.  Each round, an image is revealed and all players write their own captions using dry erase markers.  The “best” meme created scores points.

This game comes with 150 image cards, 8 dry erase boards, and 8 markers.  Intended for 3 to 8 players, ages 8 and up, it takes about half an hour to play.  MSRP is $30.00.

Dave Myer’s Costume Party Assassins, as the title suggests, imagines a party attended by a number of ruthless assassins, each sent to eliminate their rivals.  But due to their costumes, no one is sure of the identity of their targets.  Players must try to identify who is who and wipe out the competition before they fall victim to another assassin themselves.

Costume Party Assassins comes with 20 character pawns, 20 cards, 1 custom die, and a game board.  This game for 2 to 6 players, ages 10 and up, plays in about half an hour.  MSRP is $30.00.

This summer will also see a new expansion for Stone Blade’s on-going deck builder Ascension, also distributed by Ultra PRO (see “‘Ascension:  Delirium’ Brings Dreams and Nightmares to Life”).
