Dark Horse Comics is adding a direct-to-consumer division for high-end limited collectibles. Customers will be able to order statues, toys, and figures directly from Dark Horse Direct via a new online storefront. Melissa Lomax, former Dark Horse Director of Marketing, is overseeing the new division as Director of eCommerce.
The first offering available via Dark Horse Direct is a figure of Tormund Giantsbane from Game of Thrones. The figure is in stores in early August and has and MSRP of $40.00. A limited quantity of the figure will also be available at the Dark Horse booth during San Diego Comic-Con
The second release in the inaugural lineup is the Umbrella Academy Spaceboy Maquette, a 14" by 19" figure of the character from Gerard Way and Gabrial Ba’s popular comic (soon to be a Netflix series; see "Mary J. Blige Goes to the 'Umbrella Academy'"). MSRP for the maquette is $299.99.
The third piece in the new lineup is the Game of Thrones Iron Throne replica. The 18" model of the throne of Westeros has an MSRP of $499.99.
