Things will get witchy in the pages of Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark in a five-part weekly event throughout October. James Tynion IV writes the epic battle of magic.

The event kicks off on October 3 with Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark: The Witching Hour #1, a 48-page one-shot drawn and covered by Jesus Merino. Riccardo Federici provides a variant cover for the issue, which finds goddess of magic Hecate awakening the Witchmarked, within whom she stored vast amounts of power. One of those magical batteries is Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman #56 follows on October 10. With interior art by Emanuela Lupacchino and Ray McCarthy, the issue sports an enhanced foil cover by Yasmine Putri and a variant cover by Jenny Frison. In the issue, Justice League Dark have escaped Hacate (for now), and Wonder Woman is investigating whether she can harness Hecate’s Witchmarked power herself

On October 17, Justice League Dark #4 picks up the story, with Hecate ready to burn down the Parliament of Trees to replace the world with one of her own making. Alvaro Martinez and Paul Fernandez draw the issue, which will have an enhanced foil cover by Riley Rossmo and a variant cover by Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion.

Hecate’s new world is born in Wonder Woman #57, and Diana is under the goddess’s complete control. Lupacchino and McCarthy return for the October 24, as do cover artist Putri and a variant artist Frison.

On October 31, another 48-page one shot, Justice League Dark and Wonder Woman: The Witching Hour #1 wraps up the event with a battle for Wonder Woman’s soul and more. Merino returns for the interior art and main cover, as does variant cover artist Federici.

The current incarnation of Justice League Dark includes Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Man-Bat, and Detective Chimp. The Witching Hour event is the first for DC’s so-called New Justice titles, which include Justice League, Justice League Dark, Justice League Odyssey, Titans, Teen Titans (see “Two New 'Justice League' Titles, 'Teen Titans' News From DC Wondercon Panel”).
