The alien-busting troopers of Project:  ELITE are being called back to duty in an updated version of the Artipia Games’ 2016 title under production by CMON, scheduled to release in 2019.

In Project:  ELITE, the players are members of a special ops team sent on dangerous missions to halt an alien invasion of the Earth.  The actions of the team members are accomplished through real-time dice-rolling rounds that last two minutes, after which the aliens react using the game’s “AI” system.  The game includes elements of the “tower defense” genre, with players finding ways to block or destroy the aliens as they move towards their own objectives.

Project:  ELITE was created by Konstantinos Kokkinis and Sotirios Tsantilas (the creators of New Dawn) for Artipia Games.  CMON has undertaken an update of the game, which is being developed based on feedback that the fan community has given over the past two years.  The new version of the game will feature all-new artwork created by Stefan Kopinski, Saeed Jalabi, and Henning Ludvigsen, as well as new miniatures created by Studio McVey.  The new version will also include new ELITE team members, new weapon choices, new alien enemies, and new scenarios.  CMON is also planning to produce expansion sets to support the game.

Details about the new version, including release dates, component lists, and MSRP have not yet been released.  CMON intends to launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project in the fourth quarter of the year, with backer fulfillment and trade release some time in 2019.

CMON recently launched a campaign for another miniatures-heavy boardgame based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft (see “Daviau and Lang Take on ‘Cthulhu’”).
