CMON has announced a deal with Italian RPG publisher Need Games!  to produce a new role playing game based on CMON’s hit board game Zombicide next year.

Like the board game, Zombicide:  The Role-Playing Game pits human “survivors” against uncountable hordes of undead as they seek to find a way to survive in an apocalyptic world full of the living dead.  Players create their characters through the “Prologue” scenario, which chronicles their history and how they first encountered the zombies, then form a team by playing through “The Crossroad” adventure.  The game will be designed to allow players to explore a variety of settings like those in the board game, from urban landscapes, to isolated shopping malls, to hospitals, or even remote laboratories.

The rules for Zombicide:  The Role-Playing Game will include two complimentary systems.  The players themselves will use a system developed around the game mechanics of the board game, while the GM will use a custom dice set to adjudicate player actions and the behavior of the zombie hordes.

CMON plans to fund the project through a Kickstarter campaign that will launch in Q4 2019.

Zombicide continues to be a cornerstone of CMON’s product line, and the company recently revealed plans for a number of expansions for its Green Horde version of the game (see “‘Gizmos,’ ‘Sugar Blast,’ and More ‘Zombicide:  Green Horde’ Expansions”).
