In October, Renegade Game Studios and dlp games will release the first expansion set for their hit game Altiplano called The Traveler.
Altiplano: The Traveler adds new strategic options to Reiner Stockhausen’s bag-building game of South American trading and alpaca breeding (see “Raise Alpacas in the Andes Mountains in ‘Altiplano’”). The focus of the expansion is the “traveler,” who wanders the board offering advantages to those who meet him on his journeys. Additional new features include a “trading point” where players can exchange opals for other goods, new locations to visit, and new resources to gather.
The expansion includes 1 trading point, 5 extension strips, 1 white “traveler meeple,” 5 wooden markers, 30 pink opals, 36 point markers, 66 cards, 5 asset overview sheets, and 1 scorepad. The expansion was created by Altiplano designer Stockhausen along with Louis and Stefan Malz (the designers of Edo). It supports games with 2 to 5 players, and requires the base game to play. MSRP is $30.00.
Renegade will also release the combination word game/monster fighter Spell Smashers in October (see “Fight Monsters With Words in ‘Spell Smashers’”).
