Brie Larson stars as Captain Marvel / Carol Danvers, and this film, while set in the past (1990s), will not be a traditional origin story. Captain Marvel already has her powers and is already a member of Starforce, an elite military unit on the Kree planet of Hala. Starforce is led by Jude Law (Walter Lawson / Mar- Vell). She will return to Earth to fight the Skrulls, led by Ben Mendelsohn (Talos). She will also interact with some familiar MCU Kree faces, including Ronan (Lee Pace) and Korath (Dijmon Housou).

Her Earth allies will include a much-younger Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and fellow Air Force pilot Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch).

The film will release in theaters on March 8 , 2019.
