Magnastorm is a worker placement game set on a faraway planet. Players are scouts, sent to the surface to search for mining areas. Players must manage their resources and purchase influence from the commanders of the expedition to be successful in their tasks. The goal of the game is to be the first player to reach a certain number of reputation points. At the end of the game, each player receives a unique reward card, which can be used in later games to compensate for varying skill levels. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 75 – 120 minutes. MSRP was not announced.
Fuji is a cooperative dice game designs by Wolfgang Warsch (The Quacks of Quedlinburg, The Mind). Players are a group of adventurers hoping to visit Japan’s Mount Fuji. But just as they arrive, the volcano erupts, spewing deadly lava everywhere. Now players must secretly and simultaneously roll their dice behind screens and work together to navigate safely back to the village. Players must pick terrain cards, which each have a dice requirement. Players can only move to that card if they match the requirement better than your fellow players. So communication is key to getting everyone back to the village. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 – 60 minutes. MSRP was not announced. From Capstone Games and Feueland Spiele
