Manhattan, Kansas game store Goblin Games, which was destroyed in a flood on Labor Day, September 2, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for a new store. The store was destroyed when Wildcat Creek flooded rapidly and sent over six feet of mud and water into the store on the holiday. The store was a total loss, the owners posted on the GoFundMe page, with none of it covered by insurance.
The GoFundMe page seeks to raise $20,000, which was the amount used to originally capitalize the store when it opened in January 2015. As this is written, the amount raised is $7,745.
Game publishers have also stepped up with contributions of product, with Alderac Entertainment Group, Arcane Tinmen, PSI, Greater than Games, North Star, and Ultra Pro contributing free product, according to Beau Heath of Southern Hobby Supply.
The store is opening today on a full schedule in a temporary location in the Manhattan Town Center mall.
