Eaglemoss Hero Collector is launching a new program of book publishing for the U.S. and Canada with two special editions that include models of the Enterprise and the original Batmobile. The new line, Eaglemoss Hero Collector Premier Editions, will be distributed to the trade by Penguin Random House Publisher Services and will be available from book wholesalers and Diamond Comic Distributors [corrected 9/13 to show Diamond as distributing this line]. Key retailers for the line are expected to be Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Indigo, and Amazon.
Eaglemoss products are primarily sold in the U.S. via subscription and the occasional comic shop or other specialty retailers, so this is a big move into a new channel for the United Kingdom-based publisher.
Six products will be rolled out this Fall, with another six planned for Spring. The roll-out and subsequent releases will be supported with consumer marketing including online ads, social media and email blasts, podcast sponsorships, holiday gift guide features, and an ongoing public relations program.
