Tasty Minstrel Games will debut Ghosts of the Moor, designed by Michael Kiesling and Wolfgang Kramer, at Spiel in Essen.

Kiesling and Kramer are the team behind Spiel des Jahres winners Tikal and Torres,  and are well known for their Mask Trilogy (Tikal, Java, Mexica). Ghosts of the Moor is a lighter game, though there is plenty of tactical thinking that goes along with this set collection adventure game.

Players are explorers traversing a haunted swamp, on the lookout for treasure. Every turn, players move their pawn forward. If they are the only pawn on a space as they leave, they must pick up the tile beneath them. It may contain treasure, or possibly a ghost. If they leave a space with no tile, they must discard one their collected ones instead. Or, if they have a wooden plank, they can set it down under them as a bridge. After all explorers escape the swamp, they score points for the sets of treasure they collected, or lose them if they contain ghosts. The player with the most points wins.

The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 20 – 30 minutes. MSRP and release date were not announced.
