Invaders #1 will be written by Chip Zdarsky and drawn by Carlos Magno. Butch Guice will provide the main cover; Mico Suayan and Alex Ross will provide variants. Marvel’s first super team appeared in Avengers #71 in 1969. The original team included Captain America, Bucky Barnes, The Human Torch (plus Toro) and Namor. The new series will see Captain America and Johnny Storm facing down Namor the Sub-Mariner, with Bucky appearing as the Winter Soldier. The series launches in January.
Namor will also be popping up in relaunch of the classic anthology series Marvel Comics Presents, launching in January. The first issue will include three stories: a tale of Wolverine in the 1940s, the untold story of Namor and the atom bomb, and a Captain America tale. That on the series will include Charles Soule, Greg Pak, Ann Nocenti, Tomm Coker, and Paulo Siqueira.
