Intended for mature audiences, KULT is a contemporary horror role playing game originally designed by Gunilla Jonsson and Michael Petersen and released in Sweden in 1991. The game was lauded for its mature philosophical and religious depth, but also considered controversial for its adult content. Players are protagonists in modern cities, who have woken to the fact that the everyday world is an illusion created by dark architects holding humanity back from its rightful divinity.
KULT: Divinity Lost – 4th Edition Core Rules will be a 384-page hardcover. The book includes the complete new rule set, and updates the setting to the modern day.
A variant Black Edition of the rulebook is bound in an all-black cloth cover with the game name printed in blood red. Another variant, the Lost Bible Edition, includes 372-pages, and functions as a “pocket version” of the rules in a text-only version. The cover is black leather imitation with gold foil and pages edged in gold.
Kult: Divinity Lost – The Black Madonna is a 168-page hardcover campaign book. The legendary campaign has previously been released only in Sweden and France. The setting of the six-episode adventure that brings players into contact with the Death Angel Chagidiel and the Archon Binah, has been updated to be set in the recently reunified Germany in 1991. It includes new rules for creating characters connected to the setting and includes a new chapter describing the world of 1991. Kult: Divinity Lost – Taroticum and Other Tales is a 222-page hardcover scenario book. It includes seven stand-alone scenarios set in different times and locations which explore different parts of the game’s mythos.The KULT: Divinity Lost Gamemaster Screen is a four-panel information sheet for the game master, which has a mood-filled skyline image on the opposite side to face the players. The panels give GMs suggestions for NPC generation, unique movies and a listing of physical and mental harm rules.

The new edition was funded by Kickstarter by Swedish RPG company Helmgast AB in March 2016, which raised more than $303,800 from over 2,700 backers. Kickstarter backers are currently receiving their orders, with plans for trade distribution to begin in Q1 2019.
