Ian Richards has joined PlayFusion, where he will oversee the development of global Organized Play programs, which will include grassroots play designed for store support, aspiration competitive play, and even an initiative to support home play. Richards is filling a newly-created Global Manager position at the company.
Richards has two decades of experience in designing and running Organized Play programs, beginning with Wizards of the Coast before moving to Steve Jackson Games. For four years he was the Director of Organized Play for PHD, and he was a Senior Vice President at Unrivaled before it was shut down earlier this year by its parent company Oomba (see "Oomba Shuts Down Unrivaled Tournament Series").
"I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to take my copious experience and help develop Organized Play for PlayFusion globally," Richards said, "They have two awesome TCGs that are ideal for the programs we’re launching through 2019."
