Chaosium Inc. has acquired the 7th Sea RPG from John Wick Presents, and Wick has joined the company, the companies announced. The RPG was funded through two Kickstarters, which raised over $1.5 million in 2016 and 2017. John Wick Presents ran into trouble last year and laid off its staff (see "John Wick Presents Lays Off Staff." Chaosium will take over fulfillment of the Kickstarters, according to the announcement.
Wick will join Chaosium as creative director for 7th Sea, and also write for other Chaosium game lines.
"My first RPG was a Chaosium game," Wick said. "My second RPG was a Chaosium game. My third RPG was a Chaosium game. Saying 'I'm excited to be joining the Chaosium team' just doesn't do it. I've respected and admired the company for over thirty years. I'm joining the same company who started me on this journey and I couldn't be prouder."
