Slugfest Games will release a heaping helping of new content for its Red Dragon Inn card game with the Smorgasbox this fall.

The Smorgasbox contains content that can be played with The Red Dragon Inn (RDI) party tavern card game, as well as some for Battle for Greyport, and a rebooted version of RDI: Gambling? I’m In! Foremost is the new character card for Roxana, Adventurous Chef. She is head chef at RDI, and also like to experiment in the kitchen preparing recipes like Fire Salamander Flambe and Spatchcocked Cockatrice. There is also a Roxana card for Battle for Greyport.

RDI: Gambling, I’m In! includes a deck of Rogues and Warriors with which players can play several gambling games, suitable for fantasy-themed poker type games.  Or the deck can be used in game of RDI as a preplacement for a normal “gambling round” with an actual card game. A rulebook with several games, including five new ones, is included. Players must provide the d6s or poker chips or other tokens required for some games.

Last year the Munchkin crossover product, The Red Dragon Inn Allies: Spyke and Flower, was released (see “'Munchkin' Besieges 'Red Dragon Inn'”). Since not everyone prefers two-player standalone RDI expansions, an automated third player, Otto, was introduced.  Now Otto appears in Smorgasbox for use in other RDI games with four new faction affiliations.

Finally, there are 5 promo drink cards, 2 prize cards, gold coins, punchout tokens, and 4 deck dividers. All packaged in a large 10.5″ x 7.5″ x 4″ box, with extra room for storage. The game is for 2 – 4 players (more with expansions) for Red Dragon Inn, 2 – 10 for Gambling? I’m In!, and 2 -5 for Battle for Greyport. MSRP is $44.95.       

The game was funded via Kickstarter in March, which raise more than $193,000 from more than 2,500 backers. Backer fulfillment is currently set for fall, with trade release to follow.
