Blue Orange Games has joined the “Roll and Write” movement with the release of Kingdomino Duel, based on the 2017 Spiel des Jahres-winning KingdominoKingdomino Duel will premier at Gen Con in August.

In Kingdomino Duel, two players compete to fill their kingdoms in the best way possible by using a shared pool of dice.  Each turn, each player chooses two of the dice, arranges them side-by-side like a domino, then writes the symbols shown on their player mat.  Along the way, they also race to win the favor of six different Wizards who will grant their powers to the first player to complete the row of check boxes for that Wizard.  Points are awarded based on the number of High Dignitaries and Coats of Arms in the player’s domains once the players complete their kingdoms.

Kingdomino Duel was created by Bruno Cathala (Kingdomino, Cyclades) and Ludovic Maublanc (Cyclades, Ca$h ‘n Guns).  The game comes with 4 custom dice, a pad of player sheets, and 2 pencils.  It is intended for 2 players, ages 7 and up, and takes about 20 minutes to play.  MSRP is $12.99.

Earlier this year, Blue Orange released the world-building game Planet (see “Build a Unique World in ‘Planet’”).
