Geek TV news continues to roll in, and it's time for another round-up!
Netflix revealed that the streaming service lost 126,000 domestic subscribers (as reported by CNBC). This is the first time Netflix has reported a loss in subscribers since 2011. According to the shareholder letter, paid membership grew only by 2.7 million which was well short of their 5 million Q2 forecast. They blamed their missed Q2 forecast on a weak slate which failed to drive growth. Netflix has recently added new properties to their pipeline which may help reverse this trend (see "'The Witcher' Teaser Trailer Unleashed" and "'Sandman' Goes to TV"). Netflix released a teaser trailer for the animated feature, Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus. Invader Zim was previously aired on Nickolodeon, and is set to return to Earth on August 16. There was some sad news for fans of The Walking Dead: Dania Gurira will no longer be playing the katana-wielding Michonne, according to The Hollwood Reporter. She announced at San Diego Comic-Con that she will be parting ways with the show after seven full seasons. It was yet another blow to fans of The Walking Dead franchise coming only few weeks after the comic book ended its run (see "A Perfect First Issue -- Publisher Eric Stephenson Talks 'The Walking Dead'"). HBO dropped a trailer for Westworld S3. The trailer depicts another Delos park themed in a World War II timeline. Westworld S3 is scheduled for release in 2020 as previously reported (see "'Westworld' S3 "). Amazon released its final trailer for The Boys. This gritty, ultra-violent superhero series starring Karl Urban, Dominque McElligott, and Elisabeth Shue released its first full-length official trailer about month ago (see "Amazon Unveils 'The Boys' Official Trailer"). The first full season of The Boys arrives July 26. DCTV released trailers for Arrow S8, Flash S6, Supergirl S5, and Black Lightning S5 at San Diego Comic-Con. A trailer for the new series Batwoman was shown as well (see "CW Finds Its Batwoman"). The Arrowverse will feature new episodes this fall on the CW Network (see "CW's Fall Premiere Dates").
