Jack Kirby’s ambitious Fourth World saga, which unspooled in numerous DC Comics titles starting in the 1970s, will now get the Absolute Edition treatment with Absolute Fourth World by Jack Kirby. The first volume, due out on May 13, 2020, will run to over 816 pages and will collect Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #133-145, Forever People #1-6, New Gods #1-6, and Mister Miracle #1-6, together with extra features. The MSRP will be $150.00.
DC has collected the Fourth World stories before, but the Absolute Edition is a deluxe format, with an 8" x 12" trim size. Absolute Editions are usually slipcased hardcovers with dust jackets.
The new collection comes as director Ava DuVernay is working on a New Gods film (see "Ava DuVernay to Direct ‘The New Gods’").
