Players will have the opportunity to command two new Houses: the Saurian Republic and the Grand Star Alliance. Mars and Sanctum rotate out to make room for these two new Houses, keeping the total number of available Houses in the set at seven. However, Worlds Collide is fully compatible with previous releases Age of Ascension (see “‘KeyForge’ Enters ‘Age of Ascension’”) and the original core set (see “Richard Garfield’s ‘KeyForge’ Puts a New Spin on ‘Unique’”), so Mars and Sanctum remain playable in the decks in which they already appear. There are also three new mechanics, one for offense, one for defense, and one for reaping Aember, that add to the intricacy of play. There are also special cards that break the rules.
The Worlds Collide expansion features more product types. There are, per usual, the Archon Decks (MSRP $9.95) and the Two-Player Starter Set (MSRP $24.95). There is a new Deluxe Archon Deck that comes with a deck, three Key tokens, one Chain tracker and token, 18 Aember tokens, 25 damage tokens, and 24 status tokens, which retails for $14.95. The Premium Box comes with two decks, five tuck boxes for holding sleeved decks, a Chain dial, 54 status counters, 15 armor tokens, a sticker sheet, a token box, and a collector’s box for storing everything, listing for $39.95.Click Gallery below to see more images of Worlds Collide!
