There are comic book stores, and then, there is Torpedo Comics in Las Vegas, Nevada…
In a city that is well-known for its over-the-top excess and legendary tales of people going from rags-to-riches or vice-versa, there is a comic shop that stands as beacon for comic book fans with even the most discerning tastes. Torpedo Comics was opened in 2017 by System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan, and is a prototypical high-end comic book shop. This shop is located in a strip mall across from a Walmart Supercenter at 7300 Arroyo Crossing Pkwy #105, Las Vegas, Nevada 89113.
Torpedo Comics specializes in Silver & Bronze Age vintage comic books, modern back issues, new comics, collectible figures, and original comic art. Upon entering the shop, customers will instantly notice the colossal AT-AT standing in the center of the room, and find themselves surrounded by rows of comic book back issues. To the left of the front door, there are several display cases filled with both large and small statues of comic book characters as well as a vast graphic novel section. On the far end of the store, there is wall of vintage back issues and the door to the "Bank of Gotham" vault which houses tens of thousands of dollars worth of graded comic books.
This store is truly a sight to behold for comic book fans and retailers visiting the Las Vegas area.
