Genius Games unveiled Genotype: A Mendelian Genetics Game, a worker placement board game, for trade release in the second half of 2020.

Genotype: A Mendelian Genetics Game is a worker placement, dice-drafting game that revolves around Gregor Mendel's experiments performed at St. Thomas' Abbey. Players take on the roles of research scientists collecting experimental data on pea plants. Each round, the players will roll and select Offspring Dice to simulate plant breeding and collect observation data on the pea plants created such as seed shape, flower color, pod color, and plant height.

This game is for one to five players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 to 90 minutes. It will retail at $49.99, and is currently fully-funded on Kickstarter, at the time of this article's publication, with  $71,366 of a $15,000 goal and 1,329 backers ($54 a backer).

Genius Games released Subatomic: An Atom Building Game Second Edition in December (see "Genius Games Will Release 'Subatomic: An Atom Building Game Second Edition'").
