Free League will release a board game based on its hit Tales from the Loop property in Q2 2021, the company announced.  The game, designed by Martin Takaichi, will feature miniatures by Paolo Parente’s Dust Studio.  The Tales from the Loop universe is based on art and story by Simon Stalenhag in narrative art books also published by Free League.

Tales from the Loop – The Board Game is for 1-5 players who take the roles of teenagers investigating the strange effects of the Loop, an underground science facility in an alternate 80s and 90s Scandinavia.

MSRP for the trade release will be $80.

Tales from the Loop – The Board Game is currently on Kickstarter, at $175,335 from 2,081 backers ($84.26/backer).  The price is roughly 50% off retail for five copies, plus freight.

Free League has previously released the Tales from the Loop RPG (see “Sweden Brings the Strange in 1980s Sci-Fi Nostalgia RPG”). Amazon just dropped its live-action Tales from the Loop series (see “’Tales from the Loop’ Adapted for Series”).
