IDW Publishing will launch a new four-issue series based on the popular podcast Voyage to the Stars in August, the company announced. The podcast is a science fiction comedy starring Colton Dunn (Superstore), Felicia Day (Supernatural), Janet Varney (Legend of Korra), Kirsten Vangsness (Criminal Minds) and Steve Berg (Drunk History). In the podcast universe, a crew of misfits has escaped the destruction of Earth and are now battling an evil force trying to consume the universe.
The comic will be written by multi-Harvey Award nominee James Asmus with art by Connie Daidone. The first issue will feature an A cover by Freddie E. Williams II, B cover by Connie Daidone, and a Retaielr Incentive ink wash variant by Williams II.
The Voyage to the Stars podcast is a MWM Universe production. IDW was brought to the property by Joe LeFavi of Genuine Entertainment, who will serve as editor for the series.
