Indie Boards and Cards will release The Coldest Night, a cooperative strategy card game, on October 21.

In The Coldest Night, players need to keep a fire lit by feeding it cards that fuel it. Each card provides different amounts of heat as its burned, and the players must keep the fire alive by providing it with enough heat to keep it from dying out. This is accomplished by players sequencing their card plays correctly, and winning or losing will be dependent on how well they can string card plays together to keep the fire going.

This game is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 20 minutes. It will retail for $19.99.

Recently, Travis Worthington, head of Indie Boards and Cards, completed the transition of fully merging with Stronghold Games by assuming the role of CEO of both companies after Stephen Buonocore announced his retirement (see "Stephen Buonocore Retires as President of Stronghold Games").
