Reload is inspired by the first-person shooter games like Fortnite. Created by Jacqui Davis (Room 25) and Jean-Marc Tribet, the game seeks to recreate the “battle royale” style using miniatures on a modular game board. It imagines a near-future world with televised competition between cybernetically enhanced warriors. It features a dice-based game system designed for fast-paced play.
The game will feature artwork by Jacqui Davis (Viticulture, Stockpile) and is intended for 2 to 4 players ages 12 and up. Games will take about 60 minutes to play. MSRP and release date have not been announced. Kolossal plans to raise funds to produce the game through a Kickstarter campaign launching later this month.
Lost Empires: War for the New Sun is a science fiction deck-construction game set on the distant world of 581. Each player assumes command of one of four factions using an 18-card deck of their own design. By controlling objectives and destroying enemy forces, they seek to gather enough artifacts from the world’s alien ruins to open their own “Wormgate.”Created by Brad Pye and featuring artwork by his brother Ryan Pye (who previously collaborated on Terrors of London), Lost Empires is intended for 2 players ages 14 and up. Games play in about half an hour. MSRP and release date have not been announced. The company intends to launch a Kickstarter campaign starting in Q2 2021 to fund production.
