In Almanac: The Dragon Road, players take on the roles of caravan leaders, and will travel in an effort to acquire and sell goods. Along the way, they will face a set of perilous encounters as they travel from the Outpost to the Dragon City. Each round of the game features an unique twist on a worker placement mechanic, and this game also showcases a bidding mechanism that determines turn order. The goal of the game is to accumulate as much wealth as possible by the end of the game.

The game box includes 120 goods tokens, 75 gold tokens, 49 location tokens, 30 caravan cards, 24 contract cards, 24 works, 20 encounter cards, 12 guard tokens, 4 player screens, 4 starting caravan cards, a six-sided die, an Almanac game book, a fight die, a Guide token, and a rulebook. This game is for two to four players, ages 14 and up, plays in 60 to 90 minutes, and will retail for $49.99.

Asmodee USA will also release Rapa Nui, a Easter Island-themed worker placement game by Matagot, into stores on January 22 (see "Move Moai Across 'Rapa Nui' to the Coast").
