FantaCo Enterprises will release Gorgo Attacks, a collection of comic stories featuring the character by Joe Sinnott, Joe Gill, and Vince Colletta, in June. The volume collects issues #5-#10 and #12 of Charlton Comics’ Gorgo series, originally published beginning in 1962. The character originated in a kaiju-style movie released in 1961.
The new volume is being created from high-quality scans, in conjunction with the Sinnott Studio and the Basil Gogos Estate, and is designed by Whiting Studio. Mark Sinnott penned the introduction.
Two editions of the 188-page 6.25" X 10.18" volume are planned: a softcover edition with cover by Joe Sinnott and Vince Colletta for $29.95, and a hardcover edition with a Basil Gogos cover (originally the cover of Famous Monsters of Filmland #11) for $49.95.
The volume is currently on Kickstarter, with some original art premiums for high-end backers. It will be offered through Diamond Comic Distributors in the next issues of Previews.
IDW released a collection of the Gorgo issues with Steve Ditko art, packaged by Craig Yoe, in 2013 (see "’Ditko Monsters’").
