Two new Black Label series are coming to DC: Catwoman: Lonely City, a four-issue solo miniseries by Cliff Chiang, and the 12-issue Human Target, by writer Tom King and artist Greg Smallwood.

Chiang is a longtime DC artist who collaborated with writer Brian Azzarello on the New 52 run of Wonder Woman (see “Wonder Woman’s Entire ‘New 52’ Story Collected”); his most recent work has been on the Image series Paper Girls, written by Brian K. Vaughan. He will write, draw, color, and letter Catwoman: Lonely City, which is set 10 years after the death of Batman. Gotham City is run by the harsh regime of Mayor Harvey Dent and the Batcops, and Selina Kyle, recently released from prison, heads to the Batcave in search of an old secret. The comic will be published in a 48-page Prestige Plus format, and the first issue will be released on October 19 with a main and variant covers by Chiang and a 1-in-25 variant by Jock.

King, the writer of the best-selling Mister Miracle and currently the writer of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (see "Preview: 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' #1 (of 8)"), will team up with artist Greg Smallwood for Human Target. Christopher Chance, the Human Target created by Len Wein and Carmine Infantino, is a bodyguard who impersonates his clients to act as a decoy for assassins. In the 12-issue series, Chance is protecting Lex Luthor when an unexpected attack leaves him with 12 days to solve his own murder. The first issue will be released on November 2 with main and variant covers by Smallwood, card stock variant covers by Trevor Hairsine and Danny Miki, and a 1-in-25 variant by Jenny Frison.
