Brian Michael Bendis is moving his creator-owned titles, marketed under the Jinxworld brand, to Dark Horse Comics from DC Comics, the company announced. The titles had been at DC since 2017, after Bendis moved them from Marvel under an exclusive publishing deal (see “Marvel’s Top Writer Signs with DC”). This ends Bendis’ exclusive relationship with DC.
The move was the result of a long-term pursuit by Dark Horse President and Founder Mike Richardson. "As Brian can confirm, I’ve been chasing him for a very long time," Richardson said of the deal.
In addition to new editions of his older work, Dark Horse will publish several new titles, including Pearl, with Michael Gaydos; Cover, with David Mack; and a new chapter in The Murder Inc., by Michael Avon Oeming and Taki Soma. Joy Operations, the first new title under the deal, will launch in November with art by Stephen Byrne.
