Warlord Games will be launching a series of miniatures for its Black Powder Epic Battles game inspired by the 1815 Battle of Waterloo, including two starter sets, six brigade boxes, six scenery kits, and two paint sets.

Based on the decisive battle that ended Napoleon’s illustrious military career, these new model kits feature British and French units that took part in the campaign.  The models are in Warlord’s “Epic” scale—about 15mm—which allows more models in a smaller space so players can recreate battles with more combatants such as Waterloo.

The Waterloo Campaign will begin with two starter sets:

The British Starter Set comes with 18 units of model soldiers, 16 artillery pieces, 9 brigade commanders, and a scenery piece representing La Belle Alliance, as well as a softcover book with the Black Powder Epic Battles rules.

The French Starter includes 19 units, 16 artillery pieces, 9 brigade commanders, the Dacoster House scenery piece, and a softcover rulebook.

Each starter set has an MSRP of $144.00.

Additional units can be added through the brigade boxes, each with enough models to create three regiments, a three-gun artillery section, and commanders.  MSRP is $40.00 each:

  • British Infantry Brigade
  • British Light Cavalry Brigade
  • British Heavy Cavalry Brigade
  • French Infantry Brigade
  • French Light Cavalry Brigade
  • French Heavy Cavalry Brigade

Providing the miniature soldiers something to fight over, six terrain kits will also be offered:

  • La Haye Sainte Scenery Pack – MSRP $48.00
  • Hougoumont Scenery Pack – MSRP $96.00
  • Roads Scenery Pack – MSRP $32.00
  • Rivers Scenery Pack – MSRP $32.00
  • La Haye Sainte sandpit and barricade – MSRP $12.80
  • Apple Trees – MSRP $9.60

All miniatures are supplied unpainted, and assembly is required.

Warlord will also offer paint sets that have the colors needed to paint the models in historical uniforms, one set for the British and one for the French, with an MSRP of $32.00 per set.
