The five sets that are going on preorder include an array of heroes and villains. The villainous set include a pyromaniac Orc Shaman that had been trained in sorcery by Nazgul, named Kardush the Firecaller, and a set that includes three Nazgul of Weathertop. For the heroes, GW will release Thranduil, the Elvenking as well as his Mirkwood Elf Captains.

The White Council is by far the most interesting of the sets being released in this wave of miniatures. It includes Saruman the White, Gandalf the Grey, Galadriel, and Elrond as they were prior to the restoration of Erebor.

Games Workshop also recently announced Fall of the Necromancer, a campaign sourcebook for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game (see "'Fall of the Necromancer'").
