Games Workshop announced four Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battleforces sets for release in December.

GW recently announced the Warhammer 40,000 special boxed sets (see "Six new 'Warhammer 40,000' Boxed Sets"), and now, in accordance to yearly tradition, they have now revealed the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battforces. There will be four boxed sets featuring popular armies as well as a new Vanguard: Maggotkin of Nurgle starter set. The four Battleforces sets are as follows:

  • The Revenant Legion (Soulblight Gravelords: This set comes with a total of 66 models including a Vengorian Lord, 5 Blood Knights, 20 Deathrattle Skeleton warriors and 40 Deadwalker Zombies. 
  • Sybarnite Blade-Carnival (Hedonites of Slaanesh): The boxed set comes with a Shardspeaker, 3 Slaangor Fiendbloods, 10 Blissbarb archers, 5 Exalted Seekers, and 10 elite warriors that can be built as Mymirdesh Painbringers or frenzied Symbraesh Twinsouls.
  • Vanari Shining Host (Luminath Realm-Lords): It comes with Vanari Auralan Wardens, Bladelords, Dawnriders, and a Starshard Ballista, and these forces are commanded by a Vanari Bannerblade and a Lord Regent.
  • Mortisan Tithe-Echelon (Ossiarch Bonereapers): This special boxed set's army is led by a Mortisan Boneshaper and a Soulreaper. It includes 20 Mortek Guard, 3 Necropolis Stalkers, a Gothizzar Harvester, and a Mortek Crawler.

The contents of the Vanguard: Maggotkin of Nurgle starter set has yet to be released.
