The saga of Doctor Strange will resume in a new ongoing series, Strange, with a new character taking the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

The death of Doctor Strange was one of the big Marvel events of 2021 (see “Doctor Strange: 1963-2021?”).The story now shifts to Clea, the partner of the late sorcerer and mistress of the Dark Dimension: She wants to bring her partner back to life, but an attack on the magical realm forces her to step up to protect the Earth, taking on the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme and the title of Doctor Strange. The new series will be written by Jed McKay, with art by Marcelo Ferreira (Amazing Spider-Man). It will go on sale on March 2, and feature a cover by Bjorn Barends.

“After the apocalyptic events of The Death of Doctor Strange, there's a new Sorcerer Supreme in residence at 177A Bleecker Street, and a new Doctor Strange- Clea Strange,” McKay said in a statement in Marvel’s announcement. “And she's got her work cut out for her- when she's not fighting off the magical gangsters of the Blasphemy Syndicate, or battling undead super-monsters, she's going after what's hers: the late Stephen Strange. Clea is of the Faltine, that race of Warlords and conquerors, and like her relatives Dormammu and Umar, she will not be thwarted in her desires, not even by the mysterious Harvestman standing in her way.”
