Online commerce platform TCGplayer will expand from TCGs into sports cards beginning this summer, CEO Chedy Hampson announced at the company’s Seller Gathering at GAMA Expo in Reno, Nevada last week. The expansion will allow retailers to offer cards from all major sports on TCGplayer Marketplace, using TCGplayer features including a catalogue of all cards (with images), pricing, in-store kiosk, store websites, and inventory control.
The expansion will allow TCGplayer to enter a market three times the size of the TCG business, Hampson said. Major milestones the company is reaching this year include over $1 billion in sales in its history, and over one million unique customers in 2022.
