DC Comics has unveiled its newest slate of young adult graphic novels, a trio of titles to be released in 2023. All three feature DC characters in self-contained stories that are outside the standard continuity: Lois Lane, Harley Quinn, and the first Milestone character to get his own graphic novel, Static.

Girl Taking Over: A Lois Lane Story, by writer Sarah Kuhn and artist Arielle Jovellanos, is set before Lois becomes a big-time reporter; in fact, she has arrived in the big city for her first summer internship. Her plans go awry when she discovers a big scandal, and soon she is involved in a potential scandal of her own and has to figure out what to do and what she really wants. The graphic novel will be released on April 4, 2023, with an MSRP of $16.99.

In The Strange Case of Harleen and Harley, by writer Meliessa Marr and artist Jenn St-Onge, Harleen Quinzel gets more than she bargained for when she signs up for a clinical research trial. Harleen just wants to make some easy money and hopefully get a handle on her anxiety, but things get weird in a hurry, and soon she realizes she is sharing her life with Harley, a carefree rule-breaker who is her polar opposite. But maybe that isn’t so bad. The Strange Case of Harleen and Harley will go on sale on May 2, 2023, with an MSRP of $16.99.

Static: Up All Night, by writer Lamar Giles and artist Paris Alleyne, finds Virgil Hawkins, a.k.a. Static, reeling from a breakup. His best friend Richie suggests they attend a music festival to get his mind off his lost love, but when they get there, Virgil’s ex is there as well, and the night goes downhill from there, as Virgil encounters some crazy characters (including others from the Milestone universe) and has to get out of some sticky situations while learning what it takes to be a superhero and what a difference a supportive friend can make. Static: Up All Night will go on sale on June 6, 2023, with an MSRP of $16.99.
