In Great Western Trail: Argentina, the players head to the Pampas of Argentina to become cattle ranchers. This version of the game is built on the same core mechanics as the earlier version set in the American West while introducing a new type of worker, the farmer, and a new grain resource for players to manage, as well as new European markets they can exploit through their exports.
Argentina follows the Great Western Trail Second Edition set which released last year (see “Plan B and Eggertspiele Return to the ‘Great Western Trail’”), but it is a complete stand-alone game that does not require the earlier set. This version is intended for 1 to 4 players, ages 12 and up, and takes around 2 hours to play. It was designed by Alexander Pfister and features artwork by Chris Quilliams.
Earlier this year, Asmodee re-released Eggertspiele’s Coimbra (see “Asmodee Will Release ‘Coimbra’ Back into U.S. Retail”).
