With convention season in full swing, Fan Expo had its inaugural event in the Chicago area with Fan Expo Chicago (see "Fan Expo HQ Acquires Six Wizard World Shows"), held on July 7-10 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

While this was the first Fan Expo-run show in Chicago (and the first Fan Expo show covered by ICv2), the floor layout was basically the same as in years past at Wizard World except that celebrity autographs were moved into the exhibit hall, crowding them somewhat, instead of being in a separate room.

No masks or proof of vaccination were required for the show, and a high percentage of attendees were unmasked.
