DC Comics has plans to launch three series with three very different takes on Gotham City in October, along with a new iteration of Batman Incorporated by writer Ed Brisson and artist John Timms.

Gotham City, Year One, by writer Tom King and artists Phil Hester and Eric Gapstur, goes back 80 years to the story of Slam Bradley, a private investigator who gets involved in the kidnapping of the heir to the Wayne fortune years before Batman came on the scene. The city unravels as the plot unwinds, with order and prosperity giving way to crime and corruption. The first issue of the six-issue limited series will be released on October 4 with a main cover by Hester and Gapstur, a variant cover by Ryan Sook, and a 1:25 variant by David Marquez; the 40-page comic has an MSRP of $4.99.

GCPD: The Blue Wall, by writer John Ridley and artist Stefano Raffaele, is a six-issue limited series that follows Police Commissioner Renee Montoya as she tries to restore order from within and public trust from without to the battered Gotham City police department. The first issue will go on sale on October 18 with a cover by Reiko Murakami, a variant cover by Francesco Francavilla, a 1:25 variant by Jorge Fornes, and a 1:50 variant cover. The MSRP for the 32-page comic is $3.99 for the main edition, $4.99 for the card stock variants.

Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded City, by writer Evan Narcisse and artist Abel, is a prequel to the Gotham Knights video game set in two time periods, the present day and 1847. The story follows Batman and his Gotham Knights as they search for the origins of and cure for a virus that is making Gothamites irrational and violent. Each issue of the six-issue limited series will contain a code that can be redeemed for an exclusive item in the Gotham Knights game; readers who redeem all six codes will receive a seventh code for an additional in-game item. The first issue is slated for October 25 with the main cover by Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion, a variant cover by Yanick Paquette, a 1:25 variant by Christopher Mitten, a 1:50 black and white variant by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, and a wraparound variant by Lee and Williams. The 32-page issue will have an MSRP of $4.99 for the standard issue and $5.99 for the card stock variants.

Batman Incorporated, by writer Ed Brisson and artist John Timms, is a new ongoing series that features Ghost-Maker and the Batman Incorporated team. The series starts with the murder of someone close to both Ghost-Maker and Batman, and the team must not only find the killer but determine whether this is a single incident or the start of something bigger. The first issue will be released on October 11 with a main cover by Timms, a variant cover by Jorge Molina, a 1:25 variant by Derrick Chew, and a 1:50 variant by Jeff Spokes. The MSRP for the 32-page comic is $3.99 for the main cover and $4.99 for the card stock variants.
