Wizards of the Coast has announced plans to send Learn-to-Play D&D Weekend demo kits and promotional items to stores through its WPN program to support the launch of Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, with in-store events scheduled for October 7-9.

Dragons of Stormwreck Isle will be a new starter set for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game (see “Hasbro Announces New ‘D&D’ Starter Set in 2022 Lineup Trailer”).  To help promote the roll-out, the company will be including a demo kit and promo materials to WPN stores along with the Dominaria United marketing kit planned for later this month.  The kit will include a “Learn-to-Play D&D Weekend” poster, an Adventurers League poster, two sets of DM’s guides, pre-generated characters, and encounter cards for the event, 20 ad slicks for new players, 20 dice pouches, and an instruction sheet for event organizers.

The weekend of October 7-9, participating stores are invited to use these demo kits to host half-hour Dungeons & Dragons demo games, which can then be expanded into a full two-hour encounter.  This will be the first encounter from the Dragons of Stormwreck Isle storyline, providing an intro to the new campaign.

The event will also include guidelines for stores that want to host an on-going Dragons of Stormwreck Isle Adventure Play series, designed to cover four two-hour game sessions running from October 10 through November 20.

Earlier this month, Wizards of the Coast revealed details of their upcoming plans for Dungeons & Dragons releases, including new Dragonlance titles (see “‘D&D Dragonlance:  Shadow of the Dragon Queen’ Product Line Revealed”) and the upcoming renewal of the Planescape setting (see “Wizards of the Coast Teases 2023 ‘D&D’ Product Slate”)
