In Zombicide: Gear Up, players work together to survive the zombie apocalypse, fighting their way through waves of undead while they try to upgrade their weapons so they can successfully face off against the Boss when it appears. Their encounters are determined by flipping over cards, which the players must decide how to react to by making notes on their own dry-erase boards, representing their characters, or on the dry-erase coated cards.
The game comes with 6 dry-erase survivor boards, 6 dry-erase Boss boards, 72 dry-erase cards, 37 standard cards, and 6 dry-erase markers. It is intended for 1 to 6 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in around half an hour. MSRP is $24.99.Earlier this year, CMON concluded a top-ten Kickstarter for a version of Zombicide featuring characters from Marvel comics (see “‘Marvel Zombies’ Tops $9 Million on Kickstarter”). The company also started offering an expansion set that allows up to 12 players to play Zombicide at the same time (see “CMON Will Release ‘Zombicide 2E: Extra Players Upgrade Set’ into Retail”).
