These starters are designed for the newly created Ambush ruleset for Kings of War. The Ambush rules utilize lower point value armies to conduct a skirmish battle, which is aimed at allowing players to get a taste of the game without have to commit to buying a larger army. There are six new starters being released, each featuring a different faction: Goblin, Empire of Dust, Ogre, Halfling, Forces of the Abyss, and Ratkin. Each set comes with enough miniatures to build an Ambush force, an Ambush Starter Book, and bases for the miniatures.

These starters will retail for $45.00.

Mantic Games will release Sands of Ahmun, a new Kings of War Two-Player Starter Set (see "Two-player Starter Set").
