Asmodee has set a January 6 release date for Sabika, a rondel-based game coming from Ludonova.

In Sabika, the players become nobles of the Nasrid, seeking to gain prestige by assisting in the construction of the magnificent towers, gardens, and palaces of the Alhambra, while simultaneously overseeing the development of trade routes between Europe and the Maghreb and arranging tribute payments to the Catholic Monarchs in exchange for military protection.

The game is played over five rounds called “eras”.  Actions in the game are controlled by a trio of rondels, each of which oversees a different area:  construction of the Alhambra, decorating its halls, and exporting goods.  When the last era ends, the player with the most prestige is the winner.

Sabika is intended for 1 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about an hour and a half.  MSRP is $59.99.

Earlier this month, Asmodee released Ludonova’s Air Mail (see “Asmodee Will Send ‘Air Mail’ into U.S. Retail”).
