In Cangaceiros, players control the chief cangaceiros and their gangs attempting to survive in the Caatinga arid lands. They will need to arm up to push back on the volantes (the state police trained to kill them), attack the corrupted cities, and duel with the machetes in order to hang on to their freedom. Players will each use a 7-card deck to collect resources, and put their plans in motion by placing bandits to guard a region and assaulting the prison of the city of Recife. They will also need to train their leader and recruit new gang members all in an effort gain fame points. The player with most fame points at the end of the game wins.
The game box comes with a double-sided map board, 96 cards, 5 player boards, 5 wooden Gang meeples, 55 wooden Cangaceiros meeples, 15 wooden Training markers, 5 wooden Fame markers, 43 wooden Volante meeples, 20 wooden Wound cubes, 129 tiles and tokens and a rulebook.This game is for two to five players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 60 minutes.
