Just in time for the 70th anniversary of the first James Bond novel, Dynamite is launching a new James Bond series and has announced it will bring its earlier graphic novels back into print.

The new series, 007: For King and Country, will be written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Superman, The Last Gods), with art by Giorgio Spalletta (Red Sonja); Johnson is also the writer of the Dynamite’s current Bond series, 007 (see “Preview: ‘007’ #5”). 007: For King and Country follows the super-spy and his assistant, Gwendolyn Gann, as they go underground and on the run after false accusations of murder and treason turn their colleagues against them. The first issue will be released on April 12 with covers by Joseph Michael Linsner, Rebeca Puebla, Chuma Hill, and Lesley "Leirix" Li, as well as unlettered and metal variants of the Linsner cover.

Dynamite has also announced it will make its library of James Bond graphic novels available to retailers once more. The catalog includes adaptations of the first two novels as well as original stories by a range of creators including Vita Ayala, Andy Diggle, and Greg Pak.

This April will mark the 70th anniversary of the release of Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel, Casino Royale.
