Humanoids has announced that it has promoted Amanda Lucido to Director of U.S. Operations and has hired Holly Aitchison as Director of Sales and Esther Kim as Director of Marketing.
Aitchison came to Humanoids from Oni Press, where they were Consumer Marketing Manager, and prior to that from BOOM! Studios, where they started as Operations Assistant in 2015 and moved on to Operations Coordinator (see “BOOM! Adds Spencer Simpson”) and then Digital Sales Coordinator before leaving for Oni in 2021. Aitchison has wide experience, including not only sales and operations but also retail, marketing, and client relations, and has worked on high-profile titles including Chef’s Kiss by Jarrett Melendez and Danica Brine and Sacrifice of Darkness by Roxane Gay. Kim started out in retailing, as a retail assistant and then manager and co-owner of Fantom Comics in Washington, DC. She moved to the other side of the business in 2017, when she became part of the sales team at Image Comics. In 2018 BOOM! Studios hired her as Marketing Coordinator, and she was promoted to Marketing Lead in 2021 (see “BOOM! Promotes Two”). Lucido is a writer, editor, and filmmaker who came to Humanoids in 2018 as Assistant Editor, Executive Assistant, and Office Manager. She left in 2020 and rejoined the company in 2021 as Operations Coordinator. Lucido supported the development of Humanoids’ Life Drawn and U.S. Originals lines as the company expanded from European to American publishing and then into media and has worked with every department. In her new position as Director of U.S. Operations, she will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the U.S. arm of the company.New Marketing Director Is Former Retailer
