Maestro Media has announced a deal with Sanrio to bring the iconic Hello Kitty character into a new board game. The Hello Kitty: Day at the Park game will launch worldwide in 2024.
Details about the new game, which is being designed by Roberta Taylor (Creature Comforts, Octopus’ Garden), will be revealed as Maestro Media prepares for a crowd-funding campaign to raise funds for the production of the game, which will begin in September, 2023. The company plans to solicit input and involvement in the final design from Hello Kitty fans during the campaign.
Hello Kitty: Day at the Park will be intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, and will take about half an hour to play. The game will release into the retail market in 2024.
Maestro Media worked in association with Digital Development Management to secure the multi-year partnership with Sanrio for the game license.
Earlier this year, the company announced the promotion of Lucy Martinez to Vice President of Global Marketing and the hire of three new designers (see “People on the Move: Maestro Media Promotes One and Adds Three Designers”).
