Indy role-playing game publisher Nerdy Pup Games is gearing up to launch Rebels of the Outlaw Wastes, set in a “retro-dystopian” world.  The new game is set to release in Q4.

Rebels of the Outlaw Wastes pits the players against “the Powers That Be”, the fascist rulers of a post-apocalyptic world filled with mutants, misfits, and robots, inspired by works like Tank Girl and Turbo Kid.  The game is intended for over-the-top adventures in a story-telling style, using a modified version of the game system from Powered By The Apocalypse and Forged in the Dark.

The rulebook includes guidelines for creating a unique version of “the Valley” and the “Outlaw Wastes”, the game’s setting, as well as the Powers That Be.  Player characters are created by combining “Backgrounds” such as Cyborg or Morlock and “Callings” like Bookworm or Hotshot.  Tests are made by combining different polyhedral dice representing the character’s skill, gear, and look in a success-based framework.  Rules for cinematic-style vehicle battles are also included.

Rebels of the Outlaw Wastes uses stickers to record the achievements of the characters, regulating their growth over the campaign.  The rulebook includes a sheet of 54 unique stickers, enough for an entire campaign.

The game will be presented as a 152-page 9- by 6-inch rulebook.  It is recommended for ages 14 and up.  MSRP is $35.00.
