Steamforged has announced a new partnership with Kickstarter that makes their relationship exclusive and provides for collaboration on content.  The announcement was made in conjunction with the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for Monster Hunter World Iceborne: The Board Game Thursday (see "Steamforged Reveals ‘Monster Hunter’").

The exclusive relationship specifies that Steamforged will crowdfund its next four projects, beginning with Thursday’s launch, on Kickstarter, and that the companies will collaborate on educational content for emerging games creators.  This is the first time Kickstarter has been involved in a partnership of this type.

"This partnership with one of our biggest tabletop games publishers is a testament to the fact that Kickstarter can be part of an ongoing business model that works beyond initial success," Kickstarter Chief Strategy Officer Jon Leland said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

Steamforge credited Kickstarter as an important reason for its growth.  "Kickstarter has been key to the making of Steamforged and is a big part of how we’ve gotten where we are today," Steamforged Games CEO and co-founder Rich Loxam said.
